The all amazing TV

Oh my god, I am in love with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
For some reason, when news of the show started coming out, I thought it was a dating show for gay guys with the catch that there would be one straight guy in the mix to shake things up. I have no idea where that came from, but obviously, I was very very wrong.
I had heard people gushing about the show, so I decided to catch it sometime. No hurry, though. Luckily, I happened upon it without trying. It was the Police guy episode and I was charmed instantly. I could not stop laughing at everything. The looks of horror, the mocking comments, ("A hooker in Trenton is missing her boots"), the "make-betters"... Of course, I then had to download every episode. The quality is not the best, but the snark still shines through.
I adore Carson ("You put a living room where the crack den used to be") Thom ("So by sitting here, not only would you get crabs, you'd also get Scoliosis."), and Ted the most but they all work well together.
The hook is obviously a huge honking stereotype, but really, these guys were picked for more than just the fact that they were gay. They're talented in what they do (except Jai, who's I'm a little uncertain of as I haven't seen him do much yet.) especially Thom who does amazing home makeovers.
It's great that it's not just about changing things physically, but instilling the guys with a sense of confidence they previously lacked.
Well I guess I found a new TV obsession for this fall, something I didn't think would happen as I've been very cynical after Firefly. I hadn't even planned on watching any new shows besides Jake 2.0, which I'm not wowed by, but I'll give another try.
And I'm torn about Tru Calling. I want to watch it, cuz Duh, Eliza. But I said I'd never watch Fox again if they cancelled Firefly. They did. I haven't. But Eliza, man. But then since it is Fox, it'll probably be deja vu all over again. Damn you Fox, you still suck.
