Dammit. That ending. You know, I really liked this episode. (Willow: "I guess sithe really matters" And that smile they shared.) And it had a Buffy/Spike scene that made me teary. It reminded me of The Gift's "you treated me like a man" scene. I really think Joss will write whatever happens well.
But the ending... Really, it has to be some fakeout. Because Buffy and Angel have went through far too much apart to ever get back together. (Plus isn't he still in love with Cordelia?) Obviously this has to be the First's manipulations. Spike will storm off and Buffy will pull back with, "God we can't do this. A part of me will always love you, but it wasn't meant to be." (and then there has to be the obligitory Angel/Spike scene which I'm dying to see how Joss will write it) But even if Buffy doesn't end up with Spike, as this doesn't seem likely since Spike will be on Angel, I want her to at least acknowledge how much he meant to her before it ends. Not just the "It meant something to me too" but more, something more substantial.
Man, I can't think coherently. ::goes to find pro-Spuffy spin::
And there's only one more episode left!!!!
::grabs desperately on to denial::
ETA: You know what my mind wants to handle this? By listening to Grease's "You're the one that I want" Really, I just don't understand myself sometimes.
