I used to love the TV lineup at the UW, but now?! They don't carry Bravo! No Queer Eye! How else am I supposed to feed my burgeoning obsession? These things don't grow by themselves, people.
In other news, I hate the DMV. I know it may sound like a shock to some people, but I think there's some kind of extraction process that they go through that removes all traces of human emotion.
Today was a drive test walk in day, and the lady who told us about it warned that people started lining up early, like around 6AM to wait until they open at 9AM. So my dad does so to save me a spot. He had to go to bed (he works nights) and my mom had a doctor's appointment at 11, so we needed to get it over with. I get up later, meet him there at 8, and wait until 9. He's was the third person in a really long line. Some worker guy comes out to unlock the doors and tells us that drive test people have to take a number ticket and have their insurance card and permit ready.
Wait, I think, I've never had to have the insurance card with me when making an appointment. Still, as everybody surges in, I get my number while my dad rushes to get the card from our car that's right out in front.
Now they decide to devote more than one desk to drive tests and my number is called sooner than I expected. I go up and it's the same lady who told me about this Walk In thing in the first place:
Me: "My dad's getting the card, it'll be a second."
Her: "No, you're supposed to have it right now."
Me: "But I didn't know we needed the card with us."
Her: "Too late. He [worker guy] told you, you need the card. You have to get another number ticket."
So after we spent hours in line, I'm now behind the person who walked in at 9.
Okay, no one told us that we needed this until the worker guy opened the doors at 9. Last time I took a drive test, they checked all the insurance stuff at the time of the appointment. The lady, who so specifically mentioned that people started lining up early (though it seems to be that most people came a lot later than 6AM and only the people who were warned were the ones who came early) made no mention of needing anything on hand.
What really grates me is how she acted. She had this tone, like how dare I not know something I was never told. If she had been nicer, I probably wouldn't have minded so much.
Oh, and when my father complained to the supervisor, saying that they should at least have a sign or something so it doesn't happen again (as it was too late to do anything about me) we find out that the lady was supposed to have informed us about it when she brought it up.
Bitch.
