Well that certainly livened things up.
Thought it was going to be another simple day when on the way home from the library, I caught sight of billowing smoke ahead on our right. I admit, I panicked for a second, thinking it was somewhere near my house as the smoke was too dark for a simple brush fire and my housing area situated near other housing areas and forest.
Fortunately, the origin of the smoke was misleading as the road splits and curves to the right so upon coming up to rhe intersection, I could easily see that the fire was on my left. It was less than 1000 feet away and it was just a couple of trees. While I was waiting for the light to change, one of the trees lit up. Very dramatic.
It's out now, thank god. Washington has been really dry and the trees on fire borders the back of Ft. Lewis, which is just miles and miles of forest.
