Now I can procrastinate with style.
Feb. 20th, 2003 10:24 pmHow come my urge to update seems to rise with my lack of lj? Now that I have it back, I don't remember what I wanted to say...
Anyway, I am so fucking excited for this Seattle Buffy/Sci-fi convention that is happening in two weeks. March 1st is when JM will be appearing. I just got my tickets! For my autograph, I'm #002. That's just after the preferred gold people or whatever. I think I'll just get him to sign a picture.
And this Saturday I'm attending a Seattle TWOP con. I think it'll be fun. We're going to see Lion King at the IMAX and then we'll eat at the EMP. It'll certainly be interesting meeting people from the internet. As long as they're not psychotic whackos, which I've heard there are a lot of, I'll be happy.
It's weird to be going. I have mixed feelings about TWOP. I used to love it but they've sucked with some of their decisions. Like deleting the Firefly board without any warning. And the OTB area long ago. I understand they're trying to conserve bandwidth, but would a couple of days warning really kill them?
And the Buffy boards used to be so cool. I used to read nearly all the threads. But now it's bitter central. So much bitching, Joss bashing, ME hating. Not that I'm begrudging them their bitterness, it just gets tiresome when it's everywhere. A lot of times it's like they're look for any excuse to bitch about how bad the show is now and how good it used to be back in the glory days of S2 & S3. And some of them do it over the littlest/stupidest things. Sometimes I want to scream at them to just stop watching if it's such a hellish experience.
I stopped going to the character sections months ago, and only now read the general, cast member, merchandise, media threads, but even in those threads you can't escape the bitter. Although there are some good posters left, a lot of the really cool ones have left. And the recaps? Bleh. They used to be funny a long time ago. They had snark, but it was good natured and enjoyable. Now it's bitter venemous I-hate-the-show type things that isn't funny or entertaining. ::sigh:: I get that Buffy hasn't been the absolute best lately, but it's not Saved by the Bell bad.
Wow, it's late. I started this entry so long ago. And I still haven't finished checking my usual stuff. ::looks warily at mailbox:: I'm scared to touch it now. I'm excited over the hopeful news about Firefly but poor mailbox...

I was looking at ebay and was floored by this Vampire Spike figure selling for $102.50 with 17 bids and a day left. I have this figure. Still in its packaging, bought it for $13.99. And I'm actually considering selling it... ::smacks self:: Bad merchandise whore, bad.
Yes, I have lived up to my role... I've recently gotten:
Man, commit me. I think I need to change my lj name... ::does so:: There.

Yes, I have lived up to my role... I've recently gotten:
- S3 Buffy DVDs (obvious)
- 7 boxes of Buffy valentines, foil and nonfoil (But they were so cheap and on sale!): I plan to give/keep them to/from other people in the years to come.
- Spike statue: So pretty, 9 inches of hard.. uh, ceramic stuff.
- A Bronze mug
- Some pencils
- A cool SMG picture
- A Buffy calander (totally ignoring the two daily LOTR ones and the Spike calendar I already own.)
- Pack of photo trading cards
- Magazines too numerous to list, but suffice to say, they had either something to do with Buffy, Firefly, LOTR.
Man, commit me. I think I need to change my lj name... ::does so:: There.
