Okay, it's technically not Christmas anymore but oh well.

My family wasn't really traditional when it came to Christmas this year. Or just really lazy. When I came home from the dorms, there was no tree or any decorations at all. My mom didn't feel like putting it up and then I didn't feel like doing it all myself so the house remained as festive as a dead rat.

Then by the time christmas eve came around and my brothers put their presents behind the couch, my parents decided to open everything then because the whole family was there and my brothers didn't feel like waking up early christmas day.

And oddly enough, I actually got presents. Didn't expect any because I never got around to telling my parents what I wanted. My bad. Oh well, they're just going to give me $100 and call it even. My kind of present. My brothers actually gave me stuff. Which annoys me to no end because we have this perfectly acceptable relationship of indifference. We never talk to each other and things go fine. But now that they get me presents, I'm expected to do the same next year. And my mom has nagged me about it. And I have no clue what they'd want which will end up with me spending money on stuff they probably won't ever use.

And the presents they gave me leads me to the idea that they don't know me at all. I received a collage of picture frames and a cordless phone. First, I'm one of those weird types who never put up pictures of other people or myself. I do have a random couple attached to the back wall of my bookcase but that's so I won't lose them. So I have no clue what to do with this thing. And again, I'm one of the least phone people ever. I rarely spend more that 5 minutes on it so the need for a cordless, especially at the dorms, is pretty small. I really thought they knew this but apparently not.

Yeah, I know I sound ungrateful... I do appreciate the fact that they got me presents, but I wish they had just asked me about my interests, or just not bothered at all, because it's a waste of their money to buy me something I'm never going to use. To be perfectly honest, I would rather have gotten nothing at all from them.

Still, all in all, it was a nice holiday. I made cookies. My aunt gave us all $200. I got to sleep in and read all day.

Oh yeah, I finally got my grades. Philosophy: 3.4 Writing/Soc Sci: 3.0 (expected this) and Greek and Roman Myth: 4.0. With the wacky system of multiplying grade points with the credit points and getting the average, this means my gpa for Autumn quarter is 3.38. Not too shabby. I'm happy with it.

Aw man, I love Nathan Fillion. Even more than before. He posted this on the FOX firefly boards telling someone to post it on TWOP:

Would somebody do me the favor of posting this on the TWoP site? I don't have an e-mail address. Don't ask.

Browncoats,
This is for certain a kick arse message board that I have lurked about for some time. Thank you. Your boundless generousity of your time and compliments, quick quips and hi-larious jokes have brightened every day that I've creeped around among you. I especially love your opinions and insights to scenes and characters, keep it coming! I am sure you have all heard of the postcard campaign. I've sent twenty. It was fun. I signed them -Nathan Fillion- and wrote things like, "Pick up our gorram show! Don't make me come over there!"
Anyhoo, thanks. You have my thoughts tonight, this Christmas Day. Be well.

Nathan "Just call me Captain Tightpants" Fillion

PS- Tobey, sorry to make you cry- but you're the b@stard, B@stard. Merry Christmas.
