Man, I keep getting the urge to write an entry when I can't do it, like when I have class or my roommate is asleep. But now that I'm in the dorm, with much free time, I keep putting it off. Well put it off no more.
First of all, let me reiterate my lover for ethernet. I've downloaded over a hundred MB worth of video. Mainly from Buffyverse, which also holds my love. They have clips of everything. I've gotten AB's Rocky thing, Eliza's bikini scene from The New Guy, OMWF peices, clips from Wanda's Buffy shoot tour with JM thing on E!. And thanks to Sara, I finally got my BTVS cast "Videos that don't suck" clips working.
So classes. Really not as bad as I expected. So far. I'm a little bewildered by Philosophy, but I think that's required.
My first class of the day is English 198, which is linked to my Philosophy class. And it is absolutely wonderful because the two classes share books and reading assignments. Today, they again assigned the same reading. And the writing won't be too heavy. In philosophy, the papers will be short (2-3 pgs), I'm not too sure about English. Each class has 2 assigned essays with one joint essay. I really like the teacher too. He's laidback (he even asks that we call him John) and makes jokes, etc... Such a nice quality in a teacher.
My second class of the MWF schedule is Philosophy. I'm really iffy on this one. The teacher isn't so bad, though she has a vague resemblence to Maggie Walsh but she seems more cheerful. Though I already know I will never be a philosopher. Weird shit. I can survive though.
My final class is Greek & Roman Mythology. I love this class. It's not so much the teacher (though he seems nice enough) it's the material. I'm already ahead on my reading. Big class, in a large lecture hall, though not the 700 one thankfully.
On a sadder note, my Buffyfan search isn't catching anything. No one in my fig is apparently a Buffy fan (I mentioned my fannishness and not a sound was heard). And the TV room was empty on Tuesday. Really, what's wrong with this dorm? Or maybe floor. I should glance in the lounges of the other floors during Buffy (commercials obviously) and see if anyone exists.
Heh, yes I'm really Buffycentric with my search, but Buffy friends are so cool to have. You can watch new eps, have marathons, squeal over new twists in the story, discuss deeper meanings.... Obessions are so much more fun if you have others to share it with. Thank the gods for the internet though, without that, I'd be lost.
Earlier today, Sara informed me that there are cool people who possibly exist that don't watch Buffy. What a strange concept. Mind blowing even.
Now let's get to the Buffy portion of the evening. Looking back, it doesn't seem that far of a leap. Or even any leap at all.
I think this will probably be one of the most interesting seasons ever, just with all of the story potential that comes with crazy!Spike and slayer history. Last night's ep was good, with some cringeworthy moments. Excellent acting on the part of JM and SMG. And the final scene was so powerful. I really have no clue what they'll do with this.
