(no subject)

The world is funny... I mean, I don't get get this but this thing happens occasionally. The phone will ring and I'll say to myself, "I wonder it's ..." and when I answer it, it's that person.

Like one time with my friend who does not call regularly. Her calls come up with comeplete randomness. The phone rang and I thought, "I wonder if that's Crystal" and lo and behold, it's her. I don't ever expect her calls at all.

And now, what has gotten me posting about it, is what happened today. I was in my room reading and the phone rings. The rings are odd meaning it's a long distance call and that usually means it's one of my mom's korean friends who call all the time. I didn't feel like getting it but as I was sitting there, I thought, "What if that's my roommate. She could be calling right now and because you were too lazy to pick it up, you'll miss her call." Finally when I did get up, I was so sure it was here that I immediately checked, I first tried the caller ID and when I couldn't find that, I checked the answering machine and it was her.. Calling for the first time.

btw, She's in Washington now! Woo! Makes things so much easier.

But this is so odd. I hadn't been thinking about her lately, (uh, I did mean to call her but...) and out of the blue, she calls and I had figured it was her.

Of course this could be me blowing up a coincedence but still, it's weird.

Okay, roommate talk. I just called her.

Things went pretty well I think. She's not from Germany (my initial assumption). The reason she had a german phone number was because she was there on scholarship. She's actually from North Seattle.

At first, talking to her, I thought we'd be complete opposites. She's into sports. She plays soccer, used to play basketball. Did the outdoor orientation at UW. None of this even closely resembles me. At all. Doesn't really watch TV. But as we got to talking more, we have stuff in common. We both are somewhat academic.

Good points about her:
-Likes LOTR
-Likes HP (reading the book in German.)
-Likes Orlando Bloom
-Likes to read.
-Doesn't drink or do drugs
-Promises to never have a boyfriend overnight and doesn't have one now. (Good, never fun to deal with being locked out of your room.)
-Eclectic music tastes, and somewhat into country, but I can deal.
-Doesn't like hardcore rap, which is fine by me. (Like Enimem's music though doesn't like him as a person which is also fine by me)


and one of the more important ones: When I brought up my Buffy obsession, she thought it was cool (she has watched some episodes) and she said that we can watch episodes together and I can catch her up on the history. Muahhhh! uh, I mean, Good. That evil laughter had nothing to do with the fact that I have a potential victim for Buffyholicism.
