Yay... I'm in my dorm!

This is weird. I'm so used to having AOL open that I compulsively switch windows to find AOL and it's not there.

Things were hectic today. I actually went to sleep about 7 AM after staying up all night packing (well, not all night. I got drawn to the internet for a while. Stupid sexy internet) I had to wake up at 11:30 to get dressed and stuff. My mom got her friend to drive us in her SUV and somehow we managed to fit in: 3 various computer boxes, 1 large freakishly heavy trunk, 1 rubbermaid box, TV, VCR, 2 underbed storage boxes, 2 duffle bags of clothes, bookbag, canvas laundry bag filled with bedding supplies, comfortor, refrigerator, and a bedrest thingy. I was in there too, somewhere.

And it took only two trips to get everything to my room. Thank the gods they had the volunteers there with dollys.

My room is not bad at all. I was worried about it being too small, but the designers managed space quite well. On both sides of the door, there's a huge armoire/closet thing with tons of space. The beds are lofted so underneath fit a short dresser and desk drawers. My refrigerator fits nicely. With my lack of clothes, my pants fit in one, my socks and stuff in another, and my Buffy tapes and media in the top. I can even bring more tapes in without worrying about room.

Above my bed is a small shelf running along side it, so I can stick books (and my Buffy action figures) there. I chose to take: Bunny Anya, Spike, Buffy, and Fiesta Giles. Heh, and people automatically know I'm a buffy fan. I even got a standing invitation to play with these guys' Xbox if I rented the Buffy game because they thought the game was so great. Above my bed are my OMWF and Spike posters. And another brownie point goes to my roommate for appreciating it so. She admits to being a huge LOTR fan and loves Orlando Bloom, so have a good chance of dragging her to the Buffyside, *g*.

My desk is perpedicular to the insanely high bed (It's about as high as the middle of my chest and I have to do a strange leap to get on it. I frequently use my chair as a way to get on it. I feel like a little kid) The desk is long and can fit my computer, printer and my tv and vcr. But because of the bed height, I'll have to get shelves or something to actually see the TV.

And dammit, somehow my cable cord didn't get taken in so now I can't record Firefly. Grr... Now I must find someone nice enough with a VCR to let me use it on Friday night. At least this isn't like Buffy where there are a million things to watch. Just Friday. Fortunately, since my parents will be coming up for Convocation, I can get them to bring me one.

Okay, I'm tired now. And I forgot a lot of what I was going to say so I'm just going to sleep now. More updates later.
