The Manchurian Candidate

Quick update: I am an awesome procrastinator. I have a 3-4 page essay due tomorrow on something related to Brainwashing and a film seen in class that I could have started writing on Friday. Or Saturday. Or even Sunday (although Sunday was a step forward as I actually opened a word document to write the essay in) but despite not having any good idea on what exactly I would write about, I'm doing pretty well right now.

Pretty damn well since I sort of just finished the movie it's supposed to be on at around 5 today and started started writing it soon thereafter. But I think I'll be able to finish it without having to stay up all night.

And to reward myself, tomorrow, I'm going to treat myself to a nice lunch after class, go downtown, pick up some mandarin scented stuff at the Body Shop (yummmmm....) and then search for the FHM magazine that Alyson Hannigan is appearing in. (again, yum) After that, there will be Gilmore Girls and Buffy to end out a fun relaxing day.

Speaking of Buffy, I was over at the TWOP Buffy forum (there still exists some nonbitter threads...) and someone created this nice "End of Buffy support" thread which started out rather nicely. But dammit, now it seems to be turning into The Bitterness Central Part Deux (after the first one was closed for being a little too rabid). I mean, really, some people are bitter, very strongly so, but the show is ending. No more. Will be gone forever. To many people this is a sad event, not a mercy shot to a terminal patient. Couldn't this thread be like one of those wakes where you tell the good and wonderful stories about the deceased, rather than describing when and where they sucked? Especially as it seems most of those who are sad over the show ending are ones who tend to still be happy with it, or at least see some value in it.

Aww, and slowly it's seeping in that it's really almost over. Tomorrow is the third to last episode ever. I was updating my list of "Who Wrote What" and I just noticed that some writers are done. Their episode has premiered, and we'll never see another Btvs character from them again. Drew Goddard is done. David Fury. Drew Z. Greenberg.... (Marti Noxon, but I don't see that as a big loss)

And because I was bored enough to count, here's who wrote how many:

Joss: 24
Jane Espensen: 23 (Co-written: 7)
Marti Noxon: 23 (Co-written: 3)
Doug Petrie: 17 (Co-written: 4)
David Fury: 17 (Co-written: 4)
Rebecca Rand Kirshner: 8
David Greenwalt: 8 (Co-written: 7)
Drew Greenberg: 6
Stephen D. Knight: 5
Rob Des Hotel & Dean Batali: 5

(and then bunch of short-lived writers who wrote less than 3 each)

JE's number surprised me. She really picked up a lot of credits this season.

And wow, I seem to have wasted more time that I should be working. And this was supposed to be short and quick. ::scoffs:: Impossible.
