I'm so glad I went. So so so glad.

Sara said to be detailed, so here I am. Sucked my brain of nearly everything that had happend. Or the more memorable bits.

I'm cutting this because it's insanely long.

It started with me outside, while it was raining (Stupid washington) holding my "The cheese will not protect you" sign, waiting for Kat, the person who was to pick me up and take me (which I'm so thankful for)

We met with Cyn and Red, two other girls from the internet who came to join us.

We arrived and immediately saw James C. Leary's table, signing autographs and taking pictures with some fans. Which I'm glad to have seen because it gave me the courage to do the same. And he did, he was very nice about it. And let me say, he is so hot, especially in his leather jacket. And he had arm around me. I bet he has such a kick at these events because essentially, he is a small character who has a bit part but he's gotten so loved by fans that he can attend these and get lots of enthusiastic fans. It probably doesn't hurt that he's hot. I felt bad for the star trek guy next to him who looked so lonely. Of all that I was around that table, I didn't see anyone asking him for an autograph.

After that, Kat and I walked around, looking at merchandise (no action figures, I'm sad to report) but lots of photos and UK merchandise. (even a Buffy advent calendar) We visited Cyn's hotel room, which went by the photo op place where JM was taking photos. I squealed and jumped up and down because I got a glimpse of him) In the room I was somehow (though I tried to fight it) convinced to buy a ticket, but sadly, after I bought it ($50!) they closed it down. They refunded the money, but still! I could have taken a photo with him, near me, looking so hot.

Disappointed, I went around more, then we eventually made it to the Q&A with James Leary and Andy Hallett. And wow, they are so hot. (word of the day) Together even more so. It was too bad my seat was so far back that I couldn't see them too clearly. Apparently, they were so popular together at another convention that they were asked to do it together again for this convention. (and not in the dirty way…)

They were great though. They shared a great rapport, joking around with each other. Andy Hallett apparently has picked up some of Lorne's little affectations because he kept saying words like hoot, trip, sweetheart. Or maybe Lorne sounds like him.

People asked a lot of makeup questions, and some others, (and some stupid one, where this one guy near the end asked if the demon Clem was had a name, after they did a lengthy bit on how he didn't have a name, but was referred to in the script by just his appearance, Loose skinned demon) Leary talked about it some, like how upon seeing how he looked with his make-up, he was like, "I thought this was the loose skinned demon not the foreskin demon."

An exchange I caught: "I have a flat screened tv so I can just watch movies or dvds while getting my makeup on."
Leary, disappointed: "I don't have any of that. -pause- I have a mirror. I can make funny faces at myself."
Andy: "Hey, it's a flat screened mirror."

They talked some about how Eliza was to be on the show, and how hot Faith was, (and apparently Lorne gets to be in bed with Faith in some manner. Or near a bed. Or just near her at all which he's probably thankful for.)

Things that amused me:

-Apparently J. August Richards and the Groosalugg guy hang out with Andy a lot. And he mentioned how they like to go out on the town and Richards last night had left a totally drunken voice mail. Something to know....

-With baby Conner, sometimes instead of a live baby they would have this silicone/jelly baby. Alexis would occasionally just play around and throw this baby across the room and such and now they make sure to point out when they have a live baby around.

-Andy realized he finally gained wait after staying 184 (he's now 204) for the longest time and it's a running joke on set about it. Amy Acker once told him: "Jorden Levin of Fox called. They're bringing over a girdle" And someone even threw Andy a slim fast bar.

-Someone asked whether Lorne would be getting a partner (heh, notice "partner" everyone knows Lorne is gay) and he was saying he'd like to, he was hoping sometime, to get someone. Then someone yelled out: "Have faith"

-Andy in the Lorne gig is referred to a lot as "That old green bitch"

And I've learned you shouldn't really ask the actors for favorite lines, because they usually don't remember. Someone asked Leary what his was (out of all the reams of dialogue Clem had) and he was like uh… Someone then yelled out "PG-13" which confused everyone. Andy was like, "Huh? You want us to keep this clean?" The guy had to sort explain that he was referring to some PG-13 thing Clem had with Dawn in Villians where he says he'd been wanting to see The Wedding Planner. (but really, the words PG-13 don't show up anywhere in that conversation, so I'm not surprised to that Leary didn't get it). Leary looked like, "Uh, okay" and said, "Well that's my favorite line then." I bet the guy who yelled out felt like a dork.

One of the funniest parts came up when someone mentioned fanfic. I think it was whether they looked for it or something. Leary seemed curious, but Andy was telling him, "No don't read it." A friend of his sometimes forwards things to him and one time he forwarded Andy slash fanfiction. His reaction? He was "stunned beyond repair" It was about: "Angel. Lorne. A shower. A bar of soap. And 3 fingers." He even held up three fingers together to show everyone, who didn't hear, the magnitude of those digits.

*whew*

And that was only the first Q&A. After that, there was an auction that got a little crazy. I considered bidding for some of the Buffy items, but they got expensive. They sold a set of t-shirts (Buffy, Willow/Tara, Spike, Spike/Faith, and Riley) Upon seeing Riley's t-shirt, they booed. It was great. I love that the Riley hate is so strong. One of the hotter bidding items was the Spike statue (Spike love soo strong there) They were only letting the bidding go up to retail value, but I guess two people did their bids at 35 at the same time, so the guy decided to let the bidding go up and he would donate the excess to whatever JM's pet charity was. He asked the crowd what it was, and people actually knew. Anyway, it went to 450 (and during that bidding, he added that he would get JM to sign it) with two people, possibly the same, so they decided to buy another off of a dealer and give it to them both, so they ended up raising nearly 900 for charity.

Then, near the end, they sold these huge Creation ad banners with pictures of the guests, and said they would get whoever was on each banner to sign them. And it went for about $1000. Man, people out there were generous with their money.

I hung around because JM's Q&A was coming up. And eeee! He came out! He was wearing a leather jacket, which he shed and he had changed from his previous shirt to a typical black short sleeved Spikelike shirt. And my god was he hot. Even from my far away vantage point. He talked, answered questions. I really liked him, even beyond the hotness. He came off as very nice, intelligent, and humble. He won't even let anyone bring him coffee (the first road to hell).

He had some interesting opinions on the show, some of which I don't agree with, but it's all a matter of interpretation, and I see where he gets some of it.

He was very adamant about how Spike was evil, ("What do we have to do to make people see?") he killed lot so of people, how when he thought he got his chip out, he immediately went for a victim, and how Spike/Buffy wasn't a good relationship, though I didn't get much on how he views the S/B relationship (or possibility of one) now that he has a soul. I get how he got so with all the screaming fangirls who are like "OMG! Spike and Buffy are so hot!!" and just leave it at that. He mentioned how Love turned Spike selfish which led to the attempted rape incident. Spike and Buffy's relationship was brought up a lot, one fan even mentioning that Buffy treated Spike worse than the other way around. You could definitely see where their sympathies' were.

One of the things I definitely didn't agree with was how Buffy showed a black and white morality, and how evil was always to be done away with.

The topic drifted, to other nonplot things. Like spin-offs. He said Joss was looking very long term, even considering waiting a season before developing something, but that Joss wants him in it, no matter what. (Yay!) Someone invariably asked if he was single, which he is. I was interested in how he described his general previous short term relationships, because I noticed some people on TWOP were disappointed in him over how he seemed to be dating very young sleazy girls. He mentioned how he wasn't finding anything from the women he was dating, they were pretty but they were like the same person. So about 6 months before, he decided to stop dating all together. Though now he might start.

Now on to the fangirl stuff. Someone got him to sing a verse from Rest In Peace. ::drools:: So hot. And he did a piece of monologue from Macbeth ("Out, out, brief candle! / Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player / That struts and frets his hour upon the stage / And then is heard no more: it is a tale / Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, / Signifying nothing....") which was neat to see him acting in a nonBuffy role.

It had to end, unfortunately, and they started getting ready for the autograph session. They had a Buffy/Star Trek trivia contest, which was okay. There weren't any incredibly hard questions asked, and there were some stupid ones, asked by some kids. Like one was: "What was Kendra's nickname for the stake she gave Buffy" Or another: "Why was William called 'William the Bloody'?"

It really surprised me though, at how many young kids who were there for the convention. I mean, I knew it was popular among a younger set (because hello, nickelodeon award) but still, all these kids watching the show, especially during S6, with the deconstruction sex and all the violence between Spike and Buffy. . . It was a little disconcerting. I hope these parents aren't just sitting their child in front of the TV to watch and leaving them alone.

They finally started the autograph session, and it took foooooorever. It took over half an hour to get through 3 rows because they had to the special seated patrons were to get everybody's autograph and had them doing personalized messages (::pouts:: by the time we got there, they were like, signatures only, no time for anything else.)

We were entertained by some fan videos, none really for Buffy. (Earlier in the day they did do a Faith one that wasn't to bad, set to Willa Ford's "I wanna be bad") A few did include some clips of fight scenes along a general Women in Sci-fi theme. Except I was very confused by the appearance of Charlie's Angels and Lara Croft. And they showed one for Xena that left me very very confused with the theme of dancing. I thought it was a show set in the past, but they had a lot of dancing and modern looking lights in the dance numbers. But also femslashiness.

Oh, and during the preferred seating autograph part, we had Cyn's fall from grace. Cyn and Red had bought day tickets (ran about $80) which saved them a seat and included autographs from those that were signing. And it was so hilarious. Cyn had been getting them to sign her boot, which was funny in itself, but when she was up there, in front of Andy Hallet, she lost her balance and fell on her ass in front of everyone, including James Marsters, who I bet looked over. I bet someone got a picture of it too. How embarrassing. I don't think she'll ever get over it.

Kat and I were in a row way beyond that. It had started around a quarter to five and we didn't get ours signed until about 6:45/7:00. And the only reason it was that soon was that when a few people decided to go ahead, without their row being called, which led to others, which lead to everybody. But a lot of people went through some doors closer to the front of the room to the hallway not noticing that the line went past that, upon realizing that, I went around the back to where the line ended, got in, which was so lucky because the people who had started the mass exodus ended up near the end of the line.

Finally, we got near the top of the line, and poor Andy, he was left all alone, because no more people needed autographs and the rest were waiting for James Marsters. Finally, I got to that point where he was right there, signing (EEE!) looking hotter than he should, I handed my picture in and he signed it! He even shook my hand. He was so nice and didn't seem annoyed or tired, (which I would have been, giving all those signatures) And that was it. The end. Seems like such an anti-climatic ending (except for him touching me...) I squeaked, took some pictures as I was leaving, though I'm sad that I didn't give my camera to Kat so she could have taken a photo of him shaking my hand. Ah well, I had a wonderful time. If they do one of these next year, I'm going all out, buying photo a op ticket

Hee! I found the fic I think Andy Hallett was talking about. ::giggle:: No wonder why he was so freaked out.
