Hm, interesting, from this article:
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Concluding months of Internet speculation, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar will indeed be hanging up her wooden stakes come May at the conclusion of the show's seventh season.
While Gellar has given Entertainment Weekly an exclusive regarding her departure for its March 7 issue, sources close to the UPN series confirm to Zap2it.com that the actress will not be part of the cast should "Buffy" return in the fall.
Obviously it isn't official that this is the last season of Buffy, it seems like likely to me from the articles I've read about UPN's position. They seem not that enthused about a new season, or want SMG to be there for it to possibly occur.
But I'm mixed. While I'm sad about the end of Buffy (what am I supposed to do with my life now?) I want it to end with a bang, with Buffyverse resolved in some way. And how will ME top the original evil?
Sidenote: I love how speedy lj is when not that many people are on.
