Wow, being at home is such hard work. I mean, all that lazing around and doing nothing... Did I mention the doing nothing part? Cuz that's an essential part of it.

Yeah, this is what happens when you're out in the middle of nowhere with no license, a crappy bus system that takes you nowhere, and Walmart.

So I'm stuck at home with books and the internet. Thank god for the internet. And by god, I mean the high-speed cable modem I have access to.

So what have I accomplished? Well, I have watched the entire first season of the Gilmore Girls and the first episode of S2. All thanks to Kazaa, I've so far downloaded 23 episodes, though I'm not sure I got the whole experience. For some reason, whoever digitized most of the eps, decided the the bottom 1/4th of the screen wasn't an essential part of the show. So you'd see: "starring" or "written by" but nothing below. And who knows what important plot points I've missed. Deep layers and subtle themes could have been conveyed in that section and I would remain eternally clueless.

I have decided though, I do like the show very much. It's quirky, has funny dialogue and Lorelei is a really great character. Blah, blah, I go on for a couple more show specific sentances. )

I don't think it'll have the same meaning to me as Buffy or Firefly, but it's up there.

Now more TV stuff:

Angel: You know, I can't say I love this show. It's all very eh to me. (You should all adore my superb mastery of English vocabulary) I watched it religiously for the first season or so just because it was related to Buffy but then I realized, I didn't like Angel the character all that much. On Btvs, Buffy's presence made him more interesting but all by his lonesome, he's not all that captivating. And since the show is sort of called "Angel" implying that the character will always be the central figure, I stopped watching, except during the occasional cross-overs.

Now I've started up again, intermittently somewhere around the end of S3 before I lost interest again, and then during the beginning of S4 because of Cordy/Conner (the 'so wrong it's right' ship). Now back again because of Angelus and Faith. I'm not sure whether I'll continue because this week's ep was very Meh to me.

I think it's telling that one of my bigger ponderings during the whole "the Beast and no sun" arc, was about how cold it should be there without the sun's presence (Shouldn't it have been a lot colder during the period of the sun's disappearence? LA would continually be cooling with no solar radiation to offset that. Though maybe since LA is a large city, and thus a heat island... Damn Weather class for making me actually think about this.)

Next year, (if there is a next year, as the WB still hasn't renewed) since I'm probably going to end watching for the minute drop of Buffyverse, I think Willow should come on, having broken off with Kennedy (I'm probably one of the few that can stand her but I think Willow could do a lot better) Then Fred could realize she's bisexual and they could eventually fall in love and revel in their shared geekiness. This could lead to Wesley and Gunn consoling each other and discovering they were really sublimating their desire for each other into Fred and all they really want is each other. Angel should remain away from Cordelia (and away from Conner, [livejournal.com profile] addictedkitten) and just brood. Corelia should just reclaim the inner bitch.

And now it's late, and I'm sleepy.
