Ugh, I've reverted back to my Sunday habit of never going to bed early, which was a staple in high school. I think it's my house that does it. I thought I got over it here. Still, it's never a good habit when you have to wake up at 5:30.

I think today was a lucky unlucky day. It could have turned out so much worse.

First of all, we left around 6:20 AM to go back up to UW. I thought this would be plenty of time to work on my argument rough draft(which I incidently had done very little of Sunday night) in the car and and casually finish it on the computer and print it out for class then frolic off to work by 9. Except this didn't happen at all. First, in the car, I couldn't concentrate on it. Lack of sleep. Then, traffic. An accident near the Peirce/King county line that caused major back ups. So what should have been a 45 minutes to an hour drive took over two hours causing me to arrive at my dorm at around 8:35.

And at the dorm, my mom and I managed to catch the outside door before it closed so I didn't have to unlock it. Retrospectively, this turned out to be very good. So I arrived at my door and started digging through my purse to find my keys. Except they weren't there. And my roommate has class at 8:30 so she'd be gone. I realized, with 20 minutes until work started, I'd have to run to Terry to see if I could get a temporary copy. Desparately, I glanced through the peephole (that peephole weirdly magnifies a teensy portion of the room, a little bit of shelf above my roommate's desk and the blinds) and noticed the lights were on. I knocked and lo and behold, my roommate! After another midterm, she decided to skip and was only getting up. And my keys were in my bathrobe pocket. Useful, that.

I rushed in, poured all that I brought with me onto my bed so I wouldn't have to throw it away myself. Cuz I know me, and I would have left it in my room forever. The computer/tv boxes that I brought up with me on Sept 26 just left today. And I had meant to put them in storage. Except I never did. They just sat there, impeding the door from opening all the way and forcing me to move them everytime I needed to get in my closet. (I felt bad for my roommate. One time, upon entering, she joyously exclaimed "You got rid of the boxes!" only to have her hopes dashed when she noticed them still sitting there.)

Anyway, I scrambled to the computer to print out the two copies of my meager one paragraph of argument (1-2 pages were due today). I threw stuff in the refrigerator (yum, I got kimchee) grabbed my purse, and, by 8:55 AM, left with my mom. Except I forgot my book bag. I grabbed it, then we finally left and they dropped me off at work. I got there with a minute to spare, so I wasn't late.

Work was okay until I realized that, although I printed out 2 copies my threadbare argument, I didn't actually take it with me. And since I had the class nearly straight after work, I couldn't run back to my dorm and grab it. So I resigned myself to losing points in class. But during class, he never got around to actually collecting them, so it's just due with the essay. Very cool. Although not so cool when the rough draft is due the same day as the Greek/Roman midterm and I have to work on both.

What makes this day even better is I've discovered a Buffy/Star Trek/Sci-fi convention that's going to occur in Seattle! And James Marsters will appear!
