Stupid computer. Fonts aren't showing up on webpages or AOL which makes going to LJ hard. I can't see any text. Not even what I type in my journal. Trying to read the FAQ is impossible (unless you use the time effective method of pasting everything in Wordpad to see the bloody text) Fuck AOL. And fuck Microsoft. I entered Word and it doesn't recognize any fonts either. The little words on the menu bar are invisible. I go to close it and the little save message thing isn't even readable. Aaagh!
Anyway, just wanted to update after a long dry period.
In real life, I've been busy packing stuff up. Mainly my books. Though college is still very far away (about 3 months), my mom has been nagging for me do a deep cleaning and pack up books to store away so I'm killing two things with one stone.
I have a little over 400 books. And going through them, I've managed to whittle away about 200.
So 200 left.
My gods... and these 200 books are ones that I want, adore (even the ones I like are being stored) and reread often. Bloody hell. Now I have to go through them all and decide which ones I should bring with me to college. And many of them are hardcovers. ::collapes on the floor at the futility::
::gets back up:: So anyway, we bought three Rubbermaid medium sized tubs which fit about 60 - 70 books each thinking that would be enough. Nope. I need a 4th.
Now on to the internet world:
Right now, I'm getting back into Harry Potter. I've already reread all the books and in my desperation to get more of the series, I'm starting to read fanfic. Fanfic is the frontier that I rarely enter. (I don't even read Buffy fanfic) And so I'm on a journey to find good fanfic. The kind of stuff to tide me over until the next book is released. From what I've already read, I've discovered some vague preferences. As interesting as male slash is, it's just not my thing. (sorry Sara) I like D/Hr and I dislike H/Hr and R/Hr. Besides those two, I'm willing to read pretty much anything.
I've read Cassandra Claire's Draco series but I'm just not feeling the love. Maybe my dislike for H/Hr is discoloring my view but I just can't get into it. Plus all the Buffy quotes keep throwing me out of the moment.
I've also been trying to find good Nc-17 (because sex sells). I've gotten general fic recommendations from others for sites like schnoogle.com and Diagon Alley but apparently schnoogle.com doesn't really carry anything higher than R and Diagon Alley does mostly male slash. I'm scared of fanfiction.net so right now I'm stumped in that department. I'm still gonna to go through schnoogle for the regular fics.
