Sleepytime
Yay! I'm finally done with my essay. Reformed it into the cookie cutter form that he apparently wanted. And I don't care what I get. Right now, I'm just like, fuck it. I've resigned myself to not acing philosophy or doing really well. It seemed so cool from the outside, but on the inside, it's confusing and mindbending.
I've been rewarding myself by watching Anya's song periodically. It's grown on me. Although it doesn't match the wonderful quality of original, it's still entertainingly great. (I'm so easy) And the song style matches her.
On the whole, I loved the episode. Very cool. Still poor everybody. All that history. And continuity. And I sympathize with Xander, even though I agree with Buffy in her sentiment but not her execution. And I feel so bad for Anya. I really thought she was going to die. Man, D'hoffryn is a bastard.
I'm so going to watch the episode again tomorrow.
The new writer should definitely stay around. For a long time. And keep Marti away.
On a side note, this Buffyperson is annoying me. I have no way of contacting her (she has my address, phone number, email) and she keeps telling me specifically she'll come by or call or email, and she hasn't yet. I've given up on her.
Nothing especially new has happened with work. It's okay, with what I do. I mainly cover coffee and general restocking and the cash register. As long as I keep the coffee running, things are happy. And most of the customers have been really nice and understanding. Most. There was this one lady who said the milk container spouts didn't look clean (which, I admit, they didn't). That would have been nothing had she not then made one of the guys put on a hairnet. His head was practically shaved. So short that a hairnet would prevent nothing but escaping. And he was just filling a large coffee container. Weird people, with no lives of their own, so they have to be anal and bother us.
Anyway, I rarely do espresso anymore. But I can make a cappicinno. Wasn't that hard.
What's annoying about work is that I'm basically the flexible person this quarter. I do whatever needs covering. So no consitency in what I do everyday. Like today, I had to work at this obscure little mini cafe. It didn't even have a back room or kitchen. They just made coffee and sold convenience foods. So not knowing where to go, I go the cashier lady and try to ask her. I try, and she says something like, "Are you here to work?" She then gets up, continues and motions me in. When I responded with a "huh?" look, she asked, "you're working here right? So take the register. I have to go" and leaves me with a line of people still waiting and an unfamiliar register. And I haven't yet memorized all the button-lacking foods. That was fun.
I got the hang of it. Though I think a lot of people cheated me. They'd come up with huge containers of coffee in their own cup (we give discounts for that) and say that they're normally charged for an 8 oz. Uh? Either the people charging are not good at telling the difference between an 8 oz and a 20 oz (or they don't care) or the customers smell weakness and got me for it. Since I'm in a little island and the only other people are at the espresso part, I couldn't conveniently ask.
I thought about asking later, but then realized, I don't care. It's their coffee. Whatever.
But dude, I saw actual human kindness today. While I was on the register, a man discovered he forgot his money to pay for his brunch. He was about to just put it back when the man behind him was like, no, I'll cover this for you. He was insistent and ended up paying. And when I gave the change back, the nice guy tried to give it to him since he was still out of money. Aww...
Woah, I'm longwinded. It must be the lack of sleep or something.
