Today was a nice day. First of all, Yay, only 2 classes instead of 3. My english teacher cancelled them today and all next week so we can have writing conferences. (eek, nervous about that. According to those who had them today, he tore their papers apart) And on another good note, for Monday and Wednesday, I'll only have 1 class (Philosophy) because my Greek mythology teacher is giving a lecture on the east coast.
So this morning, I luxuriated in the fact that I didn't have to work. Woke up about 11:30 thinking that would be enough time to do what I needed to do and still leave for class by 1. Heh, it didn't work that way. I waste time so well. I didn't even get a chance to eat anything before class.
Things got better though, on my way to the 3rd floor for my Philosophy lecture, I found a 20 dollar bill lying on the stairs. Yay for free money.
Oh.. class. My mythology class, the teacher. Not the best speaker as I've mentioned before. He has the propensity to say "Um" and "uh." a lot. And I mean a lot. As in, when a guy mentioned he counted, he got a really high number. One I didn't believe, so I had to do it for myself. One plus is that it did get me to pay attention to everything he said. One minus is that it drove me crazy in the process listening for every "uh and "um." And so, taking into consideration that I missed a bunch when the kid behind me saw all my tally marks and asked if that really was how many times he said it and that this girl beside me kept poking me and laughing at my tallys, here is the official count of "uh" and "um"s that my mythology teacher said in the 50 minutes class: 441.
Wow. I so did not expect that many. I feel bad for doing it, especially since the kid behind me was laughing and all, but I didn't do it maliciously. I really didn't believe the other kid when he said he counted a lot. So, yeah. Poor teacher. It's just, he's really nice, but he's not a good speaker.
Tomorrow's going to be great. Me and my friend (6th grade) are going to Westlake to shop. Maybe even stop by Pike Place.
